if you're here then you already know how Audience Recordings sound.
And, if you're here despite that, then stop complaining/change your perspective by ... (I don't know) enjoying the music? It's been traveling fifty years just to get to your dumb ears. At least enjoy it!
Read the review below about hookers and acid and then tell me what you think.

There's some great jamming in this show. The recording sounds decent for an AUD, but it seems to be recorded in mono with sound only coming out of the
...
left channel.

Since I promoted and produced this show at the University of Nevada, I thought I would add a couple of interesting facts. Being in the middle of May in
...
Reno the weather was generally good....but being up there in the mountains weather was always pretty variable that time of the year. I did a lot of concerts in Reno, Kirkwood Meadows, and Boreal Ridge during the 70's and the outdoor summer concerts were always a little risky. It started out as a nice day, but later in the afternoon the winds picked up a little and there were a few gusts that rattled the huge sound system which weighed several tons and was swaying at times. One of the problems with the sound wasn't because of the musicians it was the wind distorting the sound as it carried. The football stadium wasn't a closed bowl, it had stadium seats on one side and the rest was just wide open to the elements. I remember it took my stage crew and the Dead's crew almost two days assembling the sound system and setting up all the equipment on stage. Those guys were working so hard I decided to call Mustang Ranch in the early morning hours before the show and order a few hookers for them. I think they appreciated that
The day of the show someone in the band or the crew threw some acid in the ice barrels backstage that were holding the beer and sodas. So when you opened a can and started drinking it you got dosed from the ice and water that was on the lid of the cans...... All in all it was a pretty good show...and the local crowd was pretty happy that the Dead came to Reno.
